The medical care of Mira Coluccio

As an influential business and office manager, Mira Coluccio serves as the face of Dr. Douglas Ousterhout’s successful Facial Feminization practice, and her work is essential to continued success and implementation of his revolutionary surgery.

The dramatic nature of FFS forces patients to face a multitude of moral and life issues before actually entering surgery, which means patient consultation and life planning is a huge part of a successful FFS practice, but since Dr. Ousterhout’s time is spent performing the extreme surgery, it is the work of Mira Coluccio that helps patients survive their difficult journey.

Mira Coluccio helps guide patients through the planning stages of surgery, helping them with the crucial pre-operation planning, getting them in the right mindset and physical readiness for the grueling operation. But after surgery, Mira’s work is far from over. When patients begin the difficult recovery process, Coluccio must help them find places to stay, as well as show them how to: deal with their bandages, fight infection, eat properly, and live a successful recovery life so their labors may result in a healthy new image.

Due to her efforts to interact closely with all of Dr. Ousterhout patients, Mira Coluccio has developed an incredible knowledge base about the surgery and shares all her tricks of the trade with the patients to help them get through the difficult recovery process. Coluccio’s experience and knowledge are what patients need to navigate the difficult surgery waters they must face. For example, Mira often gives out child-size toothbrushes to all patients, because she found normal toothbrushes to be too large for the bruised faces to handle. Since oral hygiene is an important part for decreasing infection risks, she hands out children’s toothbrushes to promote proper dental care with minimal pain.

Mira has even helped develop a revolutionary care facility known as The Cocoon House, which is run by two of Dr. Ousterhout’s nurses and is designed to provide essential care for FFS post-op patients.

The Cocoon house is a peaceful and relaxing place for Ousterhout patients to recover. The beautiful house holds a wonderful garden of flowers, a series of wonderful guest rooms, and is located close to the medical offices; it is truly the perfect place to recover.

The house is run by nurses who work in Dr. Ousterhout’s office, as only they have the proper knowledge to aid in patient’s recovery. However, the nurses who reside in the Cocoon house don’t work as nurses for the patients who stay there, they simply live in the house and open it up to as many patients who need it. The house is more of a place to rest and interact with other patients in a relaxing environment; it is not some stiff treatment facility, but a transitional living space that many of the patients owe the success of their new lives too.

The Cocoon House is just another example of the expert medical care and extra attention to patient needs that Mira Coluccio and Dr. Ousterhout exemplify in their medical practice. They realize the life changing effects of this surgery, and do their best to provide all the necessary tools that ensure patient success post-surgery.

Mira Coluccio is an essential part of the Dr. Ousterhout practice. The two work as an effective team to help their patients through a grueling surgery process, aiding them not only in their surgery preparedness, but their difficult transition into life with an entirely new face.
